Nike Zoom Kobe IV "Draft Day" edition

The name Kobe Bryant is so synonymous with the Los Angeles Lakers that it's real easy to forget that KB24 was actually drafted by the Charlotte Hornets in 1996. Kobe's draft rights were signed over to LA in exchange for Vlade Divac, and the rest, is history. To commemorate this vital piece of NBA history, Nike is set to release a Charlotte Hornets colorway of the Nike Zoom Kobe IV. The Draft Day Nike Zoom Kobe IV features a White upper with Teal and Purple accents. The day of the draft "6.11.96" is also emblazoned on the heel tab and on the footbed. A release date for the Draft Day Charlotte Hornets Nike Zoom Kobe IV has not been confirmed.

John Madden retires

NEW YORK (AP)—John Madden’s last game as a football announcer was a thrilling Super Bowl decided in the final seconds.

The perfect ending to a run as one of sports’ most popular broadcasters, now that Madden called it a career Thursday. Yet it didn’t fit Madden’s style to think about his retirement that way.

“I’m a grinder,” he said on his Bay Area radio show. “You just grind and get through it and when it’s all over, you think about it. You don’t rush into any decisions.”

Madden’s exuberance for football and blue-collar persona endeared him to TV viewers for three decades. Boom! As sudden as his signature call, he’s leaving midway through a six-year contract with NBC’s “Sunday Night Football.”

“I think his work ethic and passion and love for the game made him apart from everybody else,” said longtime broadcast partner Pat Summerall.

Madden said his health is fine, but at the age of 73, he wanted to spend more time with his family. His 50th wedding anniversary is this fall, and his five grandchildren are old enough to notice when he’s gone.

Takashi Murakami x Louis Vuitton

After many well-received collections in the past, popular contemporary pop artist Takashi Murakami is set to launch another collaborative collection with Louis Vuitton later this month. Previous work from Murakami led to the creation of the iconic Monogram Multicolore which has become a popular fixture replicating itself on various fronts. To kick off the launch of the Multicolore Spring Pallete, Murakami has created a lil video to outline the release at hand titled “Super First Love”. The wallets and small leather goods will see a release starting April 28th while the LV Omotesando flagship store in Tokyo will enjoy a special animated display.

Supreme x Nike SB “World Famous” Bruin

The Supreme x Nike SB Bruin finally readies itself for a release in it's, revamped basketball-style. Characterized as one of Nike’s earliest low-top basketball offerings, the upper is simple in solid-colored suede with leather on the heel. The Nike Swoosh in metallic materials offers a contrast highlight. A total of four colorways are available including white/red, green/gold, red/gold and black/silver. Releasing alongside the shoes are a series of cotton twill jackets which replicate the same "WORLD FAMOUS" slogan on the back. Available at Supreme NY and LA on April 16th with US online sales starting on April 20th. Supreme stores in Japan will release on April 18th.

Many hip-hop heads first learned about Santigold by way of a cameo on Jay-Z’s borough anthem “Brooklyn (Go Hard).” But before Hov made it a hot song, Santi White made it a hot line on “Shove It,” a track off her critically praised ’08 debut, Santogold. Originally from Philly, the Brooklyn transplant entered the industry on the executive end, before embracing her own creative chops. With her defiant punk-rock-ska fusion, the singer has since earned, as she proclaims, “a place up on the radar.” In an email interview with XXLMag.com, Santigold (she recently changed the spelling of her name) elaborated on her all-inclusive style, recording with Jay-Z and why rappers are helping to spread the word.

Swagger collabo's

Japan's "Swagger" brand hooks up with a series of prominent up and coming as well as established music artists as they present their 2009 spring/summer collection. The styling shots include a handful of familiar names and faces including Lupe Fiasco, The Cool Kids, Mickey Factz, DJ Mano, Hollywood Holt, Just Blaze and DJ Envy.

Also, for Swagger’s 10th anniversary, the brand looks to drop something basically unheard of with this Nike Terminator Hi+Supreme collabo. The shoes are deliberately mis-matched and are allegedly inspired by a mint chocolate theme. A release date has yet to be set but you better have your swagger on a "hun'ed-trillion" to pull these joints off.

After a year of rumours & hype, the first official colorway of Kanye West's highly anticipated Nike Air Yeezy was released yesterday in somewhat limited quantities at a retail of $215. From what i've seen personally, out here in L.A., specifically the "House of Hoops" at the Bev-center.. campout lines began forming as early as Thursday morning. dayuuumn. lol Say what you want, but personally i think these are pretty ill.

Mike Vick in construction?!??!

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- A lawyer for suspended NFL star Michael Vick told a bankruptcy court Thursday that the former Atlanta Falcons quarterback has lined up a $10-an-hour construction job for when he gets out of prison. "You will hear from Mr. Vick his future intentions, how he's going to change the way he lives his life," his lawyer, Michael Blumenthal, told U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Frank J. Santoro.

An agent for Vick said during court testimony that he hoped Vick could be back in the NFL by September. Joel Segal testified as part of the hearing to assess Vick's bankruptcy plan. If Vick is allowed to return, Segal said he would try to negotiate a one- or two-year contract that would include incentives for playing time and a starting position. As a six-year NFL veteran, Vick would be in line for a veterans' minimum salary of $620,000.

Vick, once one of the NFL's highest-paid players, if not accepted back into the NFL, he plans to work 40 hours a week for $10 an hour at one of W.M. Jordan Co.'s 40 commercial construction jobs, said John Robert Lawson. His father, Robert Lawson, helped start the Newport News company.

I AM MUSIC tour hits L.A.

2 nights ago lil Wayne's I AM MUSIC tour stopped through L.A., and the show was i must say super poppinn. With Wayne of course being the headliner, other acts consisted of Drake, T-Pain, Keri Hilson, Keyshia Cole, Tyga and the Gym Class Heroes.. And spotted in the audience were many celebrities and music artists such as Jermaine Dupri & Usher.
